Whilst St John’s is undergoing a major makeover, we asked young people what they think their Waterloo neighbourhood would actually look like if it was a person. For this, we turned to our partners at the Waterloo Community Theatre who engaged their younger group: Anna, David, Elizabeth, Leticia, Liliana, Luca, Mason, Rbekah and Rowan. The art work was made during one of WCT’s weekly sessions led by drama facilitator Laura Sharpe and inspired by the idea of learning about costume design.

Waterloo Community Theatre was established in 2015 to provide free and inclusive arts opportunities for local young people aged 7-16. It believes that good theatre is created through co-creation and collaboration and ought to be relevant to and represent the young people in the company. Its mission is to offer access to the arts, community and young people’s creative selves at a cost everyone can afford: free. This means WCT relies on donations and funding.
