Climate Change and Social Justice
St John’s actively campaigns for climate justice and we are proud to be home to Faith for the Climate Environment and Social Justice Group which is passionate about reducing our carbon footprint and promoting biodiversity. We have received a silver EcoChurch award and are going for gold when our major building renovation is complete. From spring 2022, we’ll be using solar panels and air-source heat pumps to create a pioneering carbon-positive crypt. As soon as our funding and the cost of technology permits, we’ll become fully carbon-neutral.
If you want to make a stand on climate change and would like to do it in company with others, get in touch. You could join our Environment Group or come along when we take part in marches and peaceful protests. Contact giles@stjohnswaterloo.org
