Gold EcoChurch Award
St John’s was awarded a Gold EcoChurch Award, a first across our Diocese of Southwark. The assessors said:
“It was so inspiring to hear how your journey to environmental awareness began – we want to see more Eco chats over coffee with young people and their church leaders! It is so clear that the principles of Eco Church are integral and woven into all that you do as a church and community, within your neighbourhood and across London.”
Presidents’ Award
St John’s, alongside Eric Parry Architects, was awarded the President’s Award at the 2023 Church Architecture Awards, organised by the National Churches Trust.
Bronze London Venue & Catering Awards 2023
St John’s and Bovingdons, our commercial catering partners, have been awarded Bronze in the Best New or Refurbished Venue category.
2024 RIBA London Award
St John’s, alongside Eric Parry Architects, Buxton Building Contractors, OR Consulting, Gillieron Scott Acoustics and Charcoal Blue, were awarded a Regional Award at the RIBA London Awards 2024.
London in Bloom Gold Award
St John’s famous churchyard garden, a green oasis in the heart of Waterloo, has repeatedly won the Gold Award in the London in Bloom competitions in recent years. It has also been voted Churchyard of the Year.
St John’s has also been recently shortlisted for the New London Architecture: Community Prize, The Georgian Group: Community Building category and the Architects’ Journal: Community and Faith Project.
