As part of the HERE sculpture exhibition at Waterloo Festival 2025, held in the churchyard garden of St John’s, members of the Creative Writing Club have collaborated with artists from The London Group to produce new writing in response to the artworks installed throughout the space.
The writers, led by poet Anna Robinson, developed their work over the course of spring 2025, using sketches, drawings, and photographs provided by the sculptors as inspiration. The exhibition, curated by Stathis Dimitriadis and Paul Bonomini, was installed in early July.
As part of the Opening Night of Waterloo Festival 2025, members of the Creative Writing Club at St John’s Waterloo shared their work in a relaxed recital across the churchyard, presenting their pieces alongside the artworks that inspired them.
The writers were John Sheehy, Fiona, Katerina Jugati, Elyz, David Simoes Brown and group leader Anna Robinson.
You can access the exhibition catalogue here, the new pieces of writing here, and recordings of each piece – narrated by the writers themselves – here.
