St John’s Choir
Music is an essential aspect of dynamic, imaginative worship, and it is also a way of fostering community, developing skills and interests, and generally having some fun. The aim at St John’s is to create a musical scene that is of high quality, but also enjoyable, inclusive, unintimidating, and life-giving.
St John’s Choir helps to lead the worship at the 10.30am Sunday Parish Eucharist and at other services, and is non-auditioning. We rehearse every Monday 7-8pm at St John’s, and again at 10am before the Parish Eucharist on Sundays. If you enjoy singing, please be encouraged to come along. We are one of the most diverse church choirs in London, with members representing around five different nationalities. Our repertoire is as varied and diverse as our membership – from Taize, Iona and Spirituals to classical anthems.
If you would like to join, or are thinking of doing so, please contact Euchar Gravina, our Director of Music (firstname.lastname@example.org). You need not be a good sight-reader – our repertoire and rehearsals are always accessible to those who don’t read the dots. You will find us to be a friendly, supportive, enthusiastic group of people who just enjoy singing.
