Please support St John’s Waterloo
What we do
As a church we do what we can to improve social justice, youth unemployment and the environment. We support these causes financially as well as through advocacy but we believe that we can play a much more active role and for this we need regular income.
We are privileged to work with cultural, charitable and business organisations here in Waterloo. Our Crypt houses six partner organisations which seek to improve the employment opportunities for young people in a range of ways.
Our Sunday congregation includes people from our local community and from all over London as well as those who originate from Uganda and Sierra Leone and other parts of the world and who have made their home with us.
How does St John’s fund this work?
Like many churches we rely on the generous giving of our congregation and supporters as well as earning rental income. You can see more in the attached leaflet we prepared by clicking here. You can also see our latest published Financial Statement (2018) by clicking here.
How can I help?
Regular Giving is what suits best as it enables us to plan for the future. By clicking here you can download a form setting up a Standing Order with your bank, and contribute using gift aid if you are a UK taxpayer. If you want to set up your own Standing Order, please remember to send us the gift aid form if you are a UK taxpayer. We also run an envelope offering scheme, and if you are in Waterloo for a short time, like the sound of what we do or have an irregular income, then a one-off gift is very welcome. For more information, click here.
How much should I give?
The General Synod of the Church of England has challenged church members to give 5% of their income after tax and National Insurance have been deducted to the Church, and then a similar amount to other good causes. This is the target for which we are aiming.
Our bank account details are:
Account Name – St John’s Waterloo
Sort code: 40-52-40
Account no. 00022879
We believe that generous giving has many rewards, so we hope you will participate in this way, and be part of St John’s and its vision. Most of our activities rely on volunteer help, so we welcome any support you can offer in this way.
