EBC has been hosting these popular Singing Days for the over ten years and we are delighted to invite singers to join us for another day of fun, discovery and performance, this time featuring Haydn's Stabat Mater.    A special choir will be formed for the day, involving members of EBC and you, our guests. Jeremy Jackman - our music director - will be working intensively with us on the music and will provide historical context and performance insights. In his words: "In his lifetime, Stabat Mater was arguably Haydn’s best known sacred work, and we know that as the years went by, Haydn became increasingly proud of his achievement in this opus. It is full of beautiful melodies, occasionally dramatic and often poignant. This deeply expressive work deserves to be better known – by you! Come and get acquainted (or reacquainted) alongside members of the English Baroque Choir at our ever-popular Singing Day.” As a singer you can participate in this great day for just £20 or £10 for students (up to 26 years old). Scores are available to hire for £2 or to buy for £8 on the registration form. The EBC will be performing this work, as well as others by Bach and Mozart on Saturday 28th March 2020 at St John's Smith Square. Over the past 40 years, the English Baroque Choir has become one of London’s leading amateur choirs. The choir performs in major London venues and tours abroad regularly.
