Grey joined St John’s in June 2023 immediately after being ordained. Born and brought up in Surrey, Grey has lived in south-east London all his adult life – currently in Nunhead. He’s got three teenage and adult children and leads a very active life.
Grey has always been motivated by the desire to see a fairer society and has campaigned on many human rights and equality, diversity and inclusion issues, both professionally and as an activist and volunteer, including as a charity trustee. His first career was as a lawyer and campaigner, most recently as Advocacy Director for the civil liberties organisation Liberty, and he is combining some consultancy work from his secular career with curacy too.
Grey is particularly interested in developing St John’s ministry with children and young people and with LGBTQ communities.
