We are thrilled to be hosting the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s upcoming Overture Day in London.

If you’re aged 11–14 and Grade 4+ standard on your orchestral instrument, come and join London Philharmonic Orchestra musicians at the free LPO Junior Artists: Overture Day on Wednesday 31st July at St John’s Waterloo.

What to expect
LPO Junior Artists: Overture days are free, fun orchestral skills days where participants play alongside LPO musicians, get tips on musicianship and find out what happens behind the scenes of a professional orchestra.

Where and when
The day will take place at St John’s Waterloo, 73 Waterloo Road, London, SE1 8TY from 10.30am – 4.30pm.

At 4pm there will be a performance showcasing the pieces we have explored, which will be open to friends and family.

Who and how to apply
This Overture day is open to young musicians aged 11 – 14, who are Grade 4+ on their orchestral instrument. Applications from young musicians whose backgrounds are underrepresented in professional UK orchestras will be prioritised. Please note that we are unable to accept applications from harpists, pianists and saxophonists.

If you have any questions then don’t hesitate to contact us at  juniorartists@lpo.org.uk

The highlight of the day was the performance in front of the audience. I also liked making friends with other participants, and the musicians were very friendly and helpful – I loved learning from them!
