Message from the vicar, Canon Giles Goddard - 17th March 2020
In these most difficult of times we want to affirm that St John's is here for you however we can be. Although public worship is no longer permitted we are hoping to keep the church open from 10 a.m until 6 p.m every weekday, and 10 a.m to 12 p.m Saturday. If you are out for exercise or to get food and want to pop in to pray please do so.
St John's will also be here for you as a virtual community while this situation continues. I will be sending a message of support and contemplation every morning. You can read it on our Website here, on our Facebook page or via Twitter. We will also be providing regular updates via social media so please visit us for more news.
On Sunday there will be a service at 10.30 a.m. The service will be live streamed (more information to follow) and will appear on a website after the service.
This is the cruellest kind of crisis because the thing which gives us life - sharing and supporting one another - is the thing which is hardest. These completely unprecedented times demand unprecedented responses, and I am very thankful for the sense of love and mutual support which is already so palpable.
I am praying constantly and holding everyone in my heart.
